Red is a huge trend Spring Summer with so many designers having red in their collections. At Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, Dion Lee, C/meo Collective, Bec and Bridge and Steven Khalil showed a lot of red on the runway.  Red was also a huge trend off the runway with Stylendipty, Trendspotter, Jadorais and Friend in Fashion all choosing a red option for their street style looks.

Red is a very powerful colour, it has a lot of energy and it brings a level of confidence to the wearer.  It’s also known as a lucky colour so I thought what better colour than to wear to my ‘staycation’ at The Star than red!

I came across an Australian Designer Zoe Georgiou and I fell in love with her red silk top.  What I love most about this top is it comes with a detachable tie so you can tie the tie into a pussy bow as I did, wear it as a scarf, tie it round your waist for a belt or even leave it off if you don’t want to wear it.

I paired the red silk blouse with the Aje black leather ‘Shrimpton mini’

I accessorised the look with some great earrings from Doodad and Fandango which tied in perfectly.  Doodad and Fandango certainly put the fun in jewellery and made me fall in love with these earrings when I saw their new collection.  My clutch is by Mon Purse which I monogrammed TSD (The Style Doctor) and of course my favourite YSL black Opyum pumps.

Style tip for wearing red- red can be a hard colour to wear so if you have fair skin make sure you opt for a blue based red (not an orange based red).  If you have warm/ olive skin you can pull off all shades of red especially going into Spring Summer.
